Tuesday

The Meeting.

Today is one of those "FIRST Day of the rest of my life" days.

Today I'll be attending a "very important meeting" with some "very important people". I'm not really willing to compromise or "sell out". But you know this already.

Sadly, I'm not allowed to take photos, but I understand. At any rate, I'll be tweeting & posting notes via my Facebook status. I want to kind've share this story with you as it unfolds. They've approved us to tweet & such during the meeting, at certain times.

If you've read a few of my past Facebook notes, I've referenced some of these persons before. They vary from music exectives to Hip-Hop, Pop, and R&B artists.

My work hasn't been in vain. I've only made it this far because of God & the support from people like you. God will be leading me through these next few steps, as He's always been.

I brought a special photo that I may post on FB later. It's a photo of when my career began. In the meantime, stick with me & follow the story as it unfolds via my Twitter & FB pages.

[Not So] Wise Guy.

You're on Twitter, right? I'm not sure how many people you follow, but have you noticed how smart-mouthed and overconfident people are getting there?

It's like an epidemic. I'm all for being informed on the daily about some of my closest contacts, but random, shallow tweets and insults hurled at perfect strangers??

That's just sub-human primitivism.

People need to wise up and have more dignity.
It's easy to be childish & arrogant; it takes character to be adults.

Having tons of followers is good, but having their respect and support is a different thing.

Monday

Human.

The sincerity relayed in this video is genuine. People have resulted to savages at how Ye acted. It's not so much about how we act, but how we react that demonstrates our character.

Not to Worry.

I've been under construction. Just a few weeks ago, I was sitting in my office sketching with only ideas. A few days later, life blows in a ton of opportunity.

So what's a guy to do? Tackle it.

But not worry. I've taken my vitamins, got plenty of rest, and my creartive juices are on ice.
Now it's time to work.

If you're reading this, that puts you at an advantage. I won't say why, but I thank you for being here. I have a lot of big things in the works, thankfully.

Just keep checking back.

Thursday

Black is Beautiful.

I ran across a photo of former model and fellow author Bill Overton and I with some of my classmates & my Tougaloo College President, Beverly Wade Hogan.

It reminded me of the models of yesteryear who gave way to rising models in the industry like
Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Dominique Hollingsworth and Wendell Lissimore. Even Tyra & Naomi are phenomenal. But what the industry won't always be quick to tell you is that back in the day, African American women were doing their thing and the public loved it.

Enjoy this trip down memory lane. It's a Tribute to the Great African American Models of the 50's 60's and 70s. Of course I had to throw in a throwback pic of Bill Overton.

Bill modeled long before he became an author & mentor of mine.

Tuesday

My President, Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, hosted the Governor’s Dinner at the White House last night to the sounds of none other than Earth, Wind & Fire.

What did your president do today?

Because I Care

Because you always want to be on your presidential, remember these care tips. They appear on your clothing neck tags, usually on the tag's underside.

Why not just print this post out..

You Think You Know, But...

It's more than making clothes.

Friday

Question

So what do you do when you're an independent designer with a small label and a major label steals one of your original designs....

...then wants you to be their creative director??

Hmph. Stay tuned.

Ralph Lauren

As a journalist and designer, I love talented people in the industry who serve as innovative pioneers for us younger industrialists.

Here, Charlie Rose [he's the man] interviews Ralph Lauren [the mogul].

This is a lesson in history. I'm always talking about style over fashion.
